
The thread of sense making was thin indeed. Who is this guy again? One that would rather turn into an animal and forget his precious sister and nephew ever existed even though his salvation is moments away? Ari sacrificed so much to protect his family that it is puzzling that he would try to run away from the marriage bed. By comparison Ari waffled from distrust, anger, incredulity and even described his exploits to that of being a whore. He seemed completely different from the take charge attitude of the man at the bar. I can appreciate that not every hero is a dashing lothario but Dagur was a blushing nervous wreck. SPOILERS: I had already guessed who Lord Dagur was in the bar scene so when he presented himself after some poorly excused hiding (at the wedding) in the bedroom I was flabbergasted and a tad disappointed. However, where this story flipped for me was in the last few pages. I felt for them, wanted them to succeed oh so badly and I was somewhat on the edge of my seat with every move Ari made while starving to death. I was immediately drawn in by Ari and his sister. She likes to believe she’s got some humor left after years of dealing with people who usually don’t understand what she’s talking about when she says she’s writing fantasy and gay porn on top of it.Flipped? Okay, so the premise of this book was very unique. If not writing-which isn't half as often as she'd like-Sam takes care of her son, her dog, a few cats, the madness at work, and life in general.
